Woodbine Entertainment holds licenses through the Ontario Racing Commission for off-track betting and television coverage. More than 30 off track betting facilities operate within the state, giving fans a chance to bet on races from around the world. Racing is available seven days a week and Miller estimates they had almost 90 people last Saturday night. Commissioned in 1933, the Illinois Racing Board has watched over the horse racing and betting scene, upholding the laws of the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975. “So far it’s been really good, better than expected,” Miller said of the crowds interested in watching thoroughbred racing from around the globe and placing a wager at one of the 12 terminals in the lounge.
